THE STORY BEHIND EDAFENCE®
EDAFENCE® Technology, a signature innovation by Cantabria Labs, was created in response to the fact that 92% of the population is subject to the impact of environmental pollution. The skin, as our first line of defence against our surroundings, is constantly exposed to environmental pollutants that cause skin ageing, hyperpigmentation and other skin conditions.
After years of research aimed at fighting these effects on skin, Cantabria Labs developed a procedure to extract the active ingredients found in the leaves of Deschampsia antarctica, which makes it possible to preserve its biological functions.

Antioxidant action (1):
Our technology protects against radical aggression and maintains fibroblast survival or even improves it. It prevents damage produced by blue light from solar radiation and electronic devices (3).
Prevents the appearance of dark spots on skin (1):
Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activation is closely related to the appearance of hyperpigmentation on skin. EDAFENCE® has been proven to block this receptor.
Improves the skin’s barrier function (2):
EDAFENCE® actively improves the skin’s barrier function, after being shown to increase the levels of loricrin and filaggrin – structural proteins related to the proper functioning of the skin barrier.
