Fernblock® Technology was born of the research by Cantabria Labs together with Dr Fitzpatrick’s team from Harvard Medical School which was aimed at developing a comprehensive protective mechanism against the sun.
More than 50 clinical studies and scientific publications have proven that this patented standardised extract not only protects against immediate damage such as sunburns but can also prevent long-term negative effects such as DNA damage, skin ageing, loss of defences and sun allergies.

Protection levels

Sun protection
It has been proven to multiply the skin’s resistance to the appearance of sunburns. Its protective action spans the entire spectrum of radiation, protecting our skin from specific damage caused by each of the four types of radiation (UVB, UVA, visible and infrared).
Damage repair
Solar radiation damages the DNA of our cells during exposure and up to six hours after. This damage builds up over time and may give rise to serious health problems.
Fernblock® Technology has been proven to prevent this accrual of damage and increases the capacity for repair. This helps to prevent UV damage from accumulating by providing very high sun protection levels.
Antioxidant action
Its potent action is due to a specific pattern of different molecules concentrated in the extract, such as phenolic compounds, which can neutralise and disarm free radicals generated during and after sun exposure.
Prevention of photoageing and dark spots
It protects cells and prevents the degradation of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin, which are key components that maintain the structure of our skin. This then prevents the formation of wrinkles and loss of firmness. Likewise, it’s been proven to reduce the intensity and size of dark spots, improving the skin’s resistance to pigmentation.
Immune defence
Our skin has an important defence system against external aggressors, which is negatively impacted by the sun. The greater the exposure to sunlight, the more vulnerable it is. Fernblock® protects and regulates the skin’s defences to keep its ability to deal with external threats intact.
