Cantabria Labs Starts Making Hand Sanitiser for Health Personnel

Given the shortage of hand sanitiser gel due to the current health crisis, the pharmaceutical firm last week made itself available to the authorities and now has everything in place to supply this critical product in Spain.

The new eco-friendly plant in Villaescusa (Cantabria) has already overhauled its manufacturing capabilities of different products to dedicate them entirely to making hydroalcoholic sanitiser gel and the first 12,500 units rolled off the production lines yesterday. The company aims to supply health workers, other professionals at the service of collective interests and everyone who requires this protection with hand sanitiser and is putting all its technical and human resources at the disposal of the common good.

Cantabria Labs has already got to work on providing an effective response to the need to secure an extraordinary supply of hydroalcoholic gel for society and the health system. Bending the curve on the requirements laid down by the government, which via the Health Ministry on Sunday gave companies 48 hours to report available sanitiser stocks to the authorities, the company last week pivoted its production plans to supply sanitiser to the northern part of Spain.

In this way, Cantabria Lab’s new eco-friendly plant in Villaescusa (Cantabria) has already transferred its manufacturing capabilities of different products to make hydroalcoholic solutions. It has converted production plans, rolled out the formula to create a sanitiser gel in record time and put its facilities and technical and human resources at the disposal of the competent authorities in order to respond as far as possible to the potential shortage of products required to contain Covid-19.

“We have just informed the Health Ministry that we are in a position to immediately produce thousands of 100ml bottles of hand sanitiser, having made the first 12,500 units at our new La Concha facilities yesterday,” said Cantabria Labs president Juan Matji.

Under these circumstances, Cantabria Labs’ priority is to leverage all its resources to provide sanitiser gel to health workers and other professionals at the service of collective interests by putting all its technical and human resources at the disposal of the common good. With this contribution, Cantabria Labs again shows it puts people’s health above all else. “For that reason, we will continue to strive to do everything in our power to support our health workers, keep the health system going and guarantee people’s wellbeing,” Mr Matji said.
